Saving 70% on street lightning costs without turning off a single light<\/h3>\n

\nSpeaking to the newspaper Jornal de Neg\u00f3cios, the CEO of ARQUILED states that the 10% reduction in energy consumption proposed by the EU is achievable without cuts in municipal lighting.
\n<\/b>” font_container=”tag:p|font_size:18|text_align:left” use_theme_fonts=”yes” css=”.vc_custom_1664275861796{padding-bottom: 40px !important;}”][vc_column_text]At a time of energy crisis<\/strong> and the consequent pressure on municipal finances, the European Union is asking member states to cut electricity consumption by 10%<\/strong>, with some warning (PT)<\/a> of the difficulty of achieving this target.<\/p>\n

However, to \u201cJornal de Neg\u00f3cios\u201d, Miguel Allen Lima<\/strong> points out a solution that would allow to surpass this goal without reducing street lighting: “replace the old streetlamps for LED luminaires”. The immediate savings in street lighting would be in the order of 70%<\/strong>, or even higher if a smart system is installed.<\/p>\n

In an opinion article (PT)<\/a> recently published in Smart Cities magazine, ARQUILED\u2019s CEO had already stated that the transition to LEDs saves around 20% of the total energy<\/strong> consumed by municipalities, considering that street lighting represents between 30 and 50% of total energy costs.<\/p>\n

To \u201cJornal de Neg\u00f3cios\u201d newspaper, Miguel Allen Lima pointed out examples<\/a> of municipalities that have saved significantly by replacing traditional luminaires with ARQUILED’s LED luminaires, several of which have also incorporated smart street lighting ECCOS management systems<\/a>\u00a0developed by Bright Science<\/a>, an ARQUILED\u2019s spinoff specialized in smart cities\u2019 solutions.<\/p>\n
